Bar Avila

Bar Avila exist since 1967, run by father and son. Usually the son works in Avila II and the farther in the original one. But as seen before, this afternoon the father was helping out the son in II. In the evenings it is always crowded. This afternoon the bar is also well filled. But I did not spot any foreigners. Neither when I was here before with friends in the evenings, I spotted any foreigners.

As the ceiling is rather low, it is always noisy. The owner and the waiters are really nice and have a good eye on the crowd. The service is quick.

I started with a tinto de verano and a (cold) Lomo de orza (loin from Orza) as the first tapa. The tinto de verano was heavy on the wine. The price is quite normal, with €2,10
You can choose your own tapa and if you are with more people you can have two varieties per table/group.
On an earlier occasion I tried the fried squid, which I thought was also good.

For my second tapa I tried the star tapa of Avila, Jamon asado (roasted ham). A nice warm tapa and good in herbs.
I accompanied my tapa (or actually it is the other way round;-)) with a glass of local wine, called Delirio. €2,50 a glass.
They have several local wines available per glass.

The bar has five tables with chairs, and five high tables, some with bar stools. And of course you can drink at the bar.
